Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR)

Last updated: July 28, 2026

In the event of a consumer dispute, consumers may refer the matter to a Consumer Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) entity, in accordance with applicable legislation.

Alternative Dispute Resolution allows consumers and traders to seek to resolve disputes out of court through independent and recognised entities.

The updated list of ADR entities available in Portugal can be found on the website of the Portuguese Directorate-General for Consumer Affairs:

The European Online Dispute Resolution (ODR) platform was discontinued by the European Union on July 20, 2025, and is no longer available for submitting complaints.
